More about me
I’m Emma, I’m a mum of two by birth and adoption and I’m a Mindful Natal®️ Teacher living in Yorkshire. Here’s a little bit more about me and power and peace birthing.
I have one adopted daughter who is fully in the ‘threenager’ zone! My husband and I decided we wanted to give a home to a child and so chose adoption as our route into parenthood. A came home at several days old and we fostered here before going onto adopt her. She’s wonderful and sassy! This experience has led me to be passionate about all routes to parenthood, not just the ones we see on the pampers adverts!
Fast forward two and a half years as we had M, our birth son. He’s currently coming up to one and is incredibly smiley (apart from at 2am when he’s hangry!). My birth experience with M was less than ideal and this has led me to be deeply passionate about helping people feel empowered and peaceful in their birth experiences.
Apart from chasing two small people around, I love a wild swim, cooking a big roast and all things Greys Anatomy!
More about Power and Peace
Power and Peace Birthing was borne out of my desire to see people have empowering and positive pregnancies, births and post natal periods.
We strive to be:
Inclusive: as someone who has been through a non typical route to parenthood (we adopted my eldest), I’m passionate about everyone feeling included in the definition of ‘parent’, no matter how you got there.
Evidence-based: I want to present you with the evidence to help you work through your options and come to a place of peace with your journey
Here to listen: I’m keen to create a place of safety for everyone to express their feelings, positive and negative towards birth
On your side: I want you to know that I’m in your corner as you navigate this season of your life
Here for the whole journey: I’m passionate about the post partum and helping women, birthing people and their partners feel supported in the fourth trimester and beyond
